Warba City Council Meeting

October 22, 2002

The Warba city council met at 6:30 p.m.  Call to order by Mayor McCauley.  Present, Kelly McCauley, Darlene Adolfs, Lois Holmes, Ellen Coffel and absent Becky McCauley and Doug Mericle.  Jerry Carey, Brian Borgman, and Amy Marrier attended.  The meeting opened with the pledge of allegiance.  The minutes of the September meeting were read.  A motion by Ellen, seconded by Darlene to accept minutes as read.  Approved 3-0.  The treasurers report was presented.  A motion by Kelly, seconded by Darlene to accept.  Approved 3-0.  Outstanding bills were presented.  A motion by Ellen, seconded by Darlene to pay bills.  Approved 3-0.

Community Center Reports:  Discussion about downspouts.  Decided to leave eaves as is.  A foot stool was purchased for the foot care person to used.  So far we have donations of $480. for the air conditioner.  It is time to get bids for waxing the floor.

Recreation:  Pavilion is completed - toilets have not been completed.  

Fire:  Ellen reported on attending the fire board meeting meeting.  They are trying to find a buyer for the tanker truck.  ISO came out to inspect.  Dry hydrants were installed.  New roof quotes are being procured.  One is for $4,323. 

Cemetery:  meeting is October 28th.  

City Development:  Amy and Kelly reported on applying for the storm shelter grants.  Kelly make a motion to complete the grant information and the city is responsible for 1/4 of the cost and to accept the resolution No. 103.  Seconded by Ellen, approved 3-0.  Total cost will be approximately $25,000.

Old Business:  Brian and Jerry on the utility septum.  Late water bills are all up to date.  Council approved writing Bob Berg hammer regarding removing the trees and wire from the city property located behind the Antique Store.  Roads were recorded and copies received for our file.

New Business:  Council approved that the new clerk can be paid for time of training for the reminder of the year after election time.  Darlene reported that she will continue her Minn Benefit policy after 2003.  MN Benefit representative will be contacted to review coverage with new council members and employees.  A motion by Ellen, seconded by Darlene to complete a credit application for Sandstroms company.  Approved 3-0.  Kelly reported about the stray dogs and will submit a bill.

Ellen made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Darlene.  Approved 3-0.
