Warba City Council Meeting
August 19, 2002
The Warba city council met at 6:30 p.m. Call to order by Mayor Kelly McCauley. Present; Kelly McCauley, Darlene Adolfs, Lois Holmes, Becky McCauley, Doug Mericle, Ellen Coffel. Others; Jerry Carey, Brian Borgman, Dana & Amy Marrier, Pat Gilsvik. The meeting opened with the pledge of allegiance. The minutes of the July 15 meeting were read. A motion by Becky, seconded by Ellen to accept. Approved 5-0. The minutes of the July 22 meeting were read. A motion by Doug, seconded by Becky to accept. Approved 5-0. Treasurers report was given and a motion by Ellen, seconded by Darlene to accept. Approved 5-0. Outstanding bills were presented. A motion by Becky, seconded by Doug to pay bills. Approved 5-0.
Committee Reports: Community Center cement steps are repaired. The door needs adjusting and eaves spouts will be added for water drainage. One estimate for the air conditioner of $3700. was received.
Recreation: Playground work is in progress. Lori Hamm is to call to okay payment of bills regarding all playground work.
Fire: Pension Plan schedule was received.
Cemetery: Some stones need to be moved.
Building Quality Communities: National Night Out was well attended.
Correspondence: A letter form attorney Paul Reevers regarding the Peterson road was received. A trial date will be set.
Old business: Late water bills have been paid. Jerry and Brian reported on utility work to be done on pumps and meters. Itasca Electric will come when needed. A sewer line is being worked on at this time. Kelly reported on the progress of meetings with Bob Zuehelke. Road recordings are being completed. Stop sign discussion. Kelly and Dana reported on the City Development Army Corp Grant. They may not come through until next year. Dana reported on funding for storm shelters and an application can be completed on this project.
New Business: Dana will call MDOT to check the ditch by the Marrier property for better drainage. A motion by Kelly, seconded by Doug to pre-buy propane thru Captrico for .90 cents per gallon. Approved 5-0. A few residents have asked about a utility drop box for utility payments. No action on this.
A motion by Doug to adjourn, seconded by Becky. Meeting adjourned.
