Warba City Council Meeting Minutes
April
16, 2001
The Warba city council met at 4:30 p.m. Call to order by Mayor Kelly
McCauley.
Present: Lois Holmes, Darlene Adolfs, Kelly McCauley, Becky McCauley. Absent:
Ellen Coffel and D. Mericle.
Guests: Brian Borgman, Tim Satrang, Mark Carlson, Jerry Carey.
Minutes of the March meeting were read. One correction: The city is unable to put a road sign on the N. Shallow Lake since the road is officially county road 477, a motion by Becky, seconded by Kelly to approve correction and minutes, approved 3-0.
Treasurers report was given. A motion by Darlene, seconded by Becky to accept the report approved 3-0.
Outstanding bills were presented. A motion by Becky, seconded by Darlene to pay the bills, approved 3-0.
Tim and Brian reported on the utility work. Tim reported that he had contacted Mike Larson regarding correct temperature for running PLC. Pump house should be dry winter and summer. Tim will look into the possibility of purchasing a humidifier for summer. Tim will handle putting in a vent. Small cities may have to chlorinate within the next 10-15 years, city council should adopt the State plumbing code. Reports were signed.
Tom Saxhaug delivered the insurance policy and bills for city, rec.and
fire.
Mark
Carlson reported he will build a garage building on his property and has
surveyed such and will be 18 feet from the back of the alley. Council approved
this.
Committee Reports:
Cemetery: Cemetery will have a walk thru inspection April 23.
Recreation: The board is working on a Blandin grant to complete the playground park area.
Fire: Ellen, Mark and Warren will attend a grant writing meeting April 16th.
Community Center: A 5th anniversary party is planed for the Country music group on April 21st. Center is well used.
Food Shelf: Jerry requested an additional $50 from the city of
Warba. Tabled for research.
Old business: Council approved sending Wm. Beck a utility
disconnect letter, putting a stop sign at the intersection of 2nd and N. and the
alley street behind the leather shop. A motion by Kelly, seconded by Becky
to approve Bob Henry cutting trees on city property on the minimum maintenance
road near the pond since Terry Peterson is having the road improved so that he
can reach his property by the river, approved 3-0
Council approved sending the dog ordinance to the renter D. Wahlstrom house. There have been many complaints. Kelly reported damage to the minimum maintenance road at the end of the Stenseth road since logging is being done in that area. Felix road had 2 loads of gravel on a washout area.
New
business: Ken Siebert will do the city mowing. Becky and Darlene are
in the process of putting the city financial system into the computer.
Council approved paying Becky mileage to attend a finance
system meeting in Minneapolis. A motion by Becky, seconded by Kelly to
