Warba City Council Meeting Minutes
January 16,2001
The Warba city council met at 6:30 p.m. Present: Mayor Kelly McCauley, Doug Mericle, Ellen Coffel, Becky McCauley, Darlene Adolfs, Lois Holmes. Guests: Tom Saxhaug, Brian Borgman. Tim Satrang, Jerry Carey, Frank Fairchild, Pat Gilsvik.
Call to order by Kelly McCauley. Minutes of Dec. 2000 meeting were read. A motion by Doug, seconded by Ellen to accept, approved 5-0.
Treas. report was presented, a motion by Ellen, seconded by Darlene to accept, approved 5-0. Outstanding bills were presented: General 7,393,11, utility 5,204.57, A motion by Becky seconded by Ellen to pay bills.
Tom Saxhaug reviewed insurance coverage for year 2001. Quonset coverage was increased to 30,000. Warming house to 15,000. Insurance refund of 782 was received.
Committee Reports:
Community center: Frost heaved the cement near the front door. Will wax floors in June. Sink needs repair.
Recreation: Frank reported on ice rink a submitted 1272 of wage bills for workers. Doug reported on grant work being planned.
Fire: Repair bills for claim of 12-9-00. submitted.
Cemetery: Feb 5, 2001 - 7:00 p.m. meeting.
Correspondence: Several reported hearing that the Warba Web site is very well planned and interesting.
Old business: Brian and Tim reported on utility work. Late water bill discussion and will be handled.
Doug will contact applicants and set up interviews with each. Doug presented the new job slips for all.
One Christmas light needs repair.
Discussion, poll voting verses mail ballot discussion. No decision at this time.

Pat Gilsvik asked the council if youth could be hired to be in charge of youth activities at the comm. center. Approved.
The building quality Communities Committee will meet Jan. 29, 2001 to plan visioning session or focus groups to join citizen feedback and guidance in community building.
Kelly reported on the 4 inch water main break which happened in Dec. 2000, The water line crosses Kelly's property and yard work will be repaired in 2001.
Ellen reported on progress with the post office regarding having the post office lobby open longer hours.
A motion by Ellen, seconded by Doug to adjourn- approved.
