Warba City Council Meeting Minutes
September 18, 2000
The Warba city council met at 6:30 p.m. Call to order by acting mayor Darlene Adolphs, Present Lois Holmes, Darlene Adolfs, Doug Mericle, Ellen Coffel, Becky McCauley. Absent: Kelly McCauley. Note: Kelly arrived for the later part of the meeting.
Minutes of the August meeting were read. A motion by Becky, seconded by Ellen, to accept the minutes, approved
4-0.
Treasures report was given, a motion by Ellen, seconded by Doug to accept, approved 4-0.
Outstanding bills were presented, General Fund, 7, 016.53, Utility fund 853.33, A motion by Doug seconded by Becky to pay bills.
Committee reports, community center early child development program is well attended. Council approved that Jerry trim maple trees, fix leaky faucets, paint all C.C. doors. Some items are missing from the kitchens.
Recreation: Lori Hamm reported on the successful installation of the playground equipment. She thanked all who helped. Becky reported on difficulty in collecting for damage to the ball field.
Fire Board will meet this week.
Guests: Brian Borgman and Tim Satrong reported on their services. They requested that trespass signs be installed and a wire fence be repaired and put a lock on the panel and flow meter needs attention. They toured the system with Jerry.
Dana Marrier attended the meeting. He donated a computer to the city. He requested consideration for 3 street lights on Lake Street. A motion by Ellen, seconded by Becky to have 3 lights installed, approved 4-0. Dana spoke of future plans for his property, 20 more units and a storm shelter.
Ed Miller attended and asked if the city lots 10 and 12 are for sale. Tabled for next meeting.
Correspondence: Information was received from Terry Peterson on the purchase of lots 2, 5, 22 and 23. He will build a cabin on the property. Council approved, Darlene, Ellen and Becky to attend the LMC in Cohasset on 10-03-00. Darlene made a motion, Ellen seconded to adopt the building quality resolution for LMC.
Old business: A motion by Doug, seconded by Ellen to adopt resolution 93 to approve gambling for Greenway Lions club for operation at Warba Liquor. Approved 4-0.
Council approved that Jerry get an estimate for repair of water hook up at the apartment house.
Discussion: Consider a deposit when hooking up water/sewer patrons, adjust Jerry's wages, adjust water/sewer rates - all tabled. Approved to place an
ad in G.R. Herald for part time
maintenance employee.
New Business: Several sewer drain covers are needed. Kelly will order some.
Motion by Doug, seconded by Ellen to adjourn. Approved 5-0 Meeting adjourned.
