Minutes for Recreation Board Meeting 12/20/2000

In attendance were Doug Mericle, Becky McCauley, Warren Spawn, Mark Carlson, Frank Fairchild, Lori Hamm and Tami Richardson.

First thing discussed was that Doug Mericle would be taking over for Becky.
Becky came to tie up loose ends.

The second thing we discussed was the Beefy Lawson Grant because Bob Larson wants a special picture taken for this grant being it is there 100,000(or something like that not sure on amount) they have given away. Doug will get a hold of Bob at the sheriff's office.

The third thing discussed was the DNR Grant, The grant contact person has changed and Lori will take over at pursuing this.

Skating Rink
Frank Fairchild showed up to update us on the rink. The skating rink is now open. We have extended our hours for Christmas break we will be open from 12 to 9.  Frank submitted bills for thermostat and fuses. Snow blowers starter is shot Frank will bring in for repairs.  Frank hired Willie Lindahl, Shirley Lindahl, and Pete Travica for the rink. Keys for rink are inside office

Jerry Carey brought a 50 ft. hose to the rink.

Discussed getting base lines done in the spring

The Recreation board is going to request a monthly report for finances instead of just the quarterly report.

Playground
Lori finished the Blandin Grant and Recreation Board reviewed it and ok'd it so Lori will drop off at Blandin on 12/21/00

Lori explained to the board what the Richardson's were paid for on the coordinating of the playground being it was in question on the meeting when Lori was absent. The board agreed it was money well spent being it would have cost more to hire Gametime's man and he wouldn't have done the set up of the holes and the coordinating of the project. Lori had been told to hire Gametime's man at the time she hired the Richardson's and didn't feel she needed to have a meeting about it being she was saving money going this route.
