Minutes for Recreation Board Meeting November 15 2000

The Recreation Board Met on November 15, 2000 at 4:30PM at the Warba Community Center. Present were Becky McCaulley, Warren Spawn and Frank Fairchild. Absent were Mark Carlson and Lori Hamm.

Skating rink
Frank Fairchild has agreed to manage the skating rink in Warba again this year for $7:00 an hour with the rink attendants making $6.00 an hour. Frank was only paid $6.00 per hr. last year by mistake. Frank, Becky and Warren will contact people they think may be interested in working at the rink. Becky will post signs asking for attendants in the Shallow Lake Store and the Post Office. Frank would like to find 3 or 4 reliable workers 16 years old and above.

Warren will borrow 50 feet of 1-1/2" hose for the rink from the fire department and check the hydrant that was hit during construction. Frank will check on the heater.

Nothing

Playground
Both the Feeley Township Board and Warba City Council expressed concern over a bill submitted by Tami Richardson when everyone else volunteered.

All work should be completed on the playground with a few outstanding bills unpaid. 

Lori Hamm is taking a grant writing class to help with the Blandin Grant. It was approved that her mileage and expenses be paid by the recreation board.
